Carpet Cleaning Gas Water Heater
In 1927, W. E. McCorquodale invented and was granted a patent on the first thermostatically-controlled instantaneous gas water heater. He called the device the "Hotomatic."
Today, Little Giant has taken his original ideas and improved on the design to offer a dependable, reliable, and long lasting water heater for the carpet cleaning industry. Using today’s technology and the original ideas of Mr. McCorquodale, we manufacture a heater that rivals any exhaust heat exchanger on the market, at half the cost.
We offer btu ratings from 65,000 to 180,000 for even the largest systems. We also offer pressure ranges from 600psi to 2200psi for tile and grout cleaning. Our three models, the #2HT, #3HT, and #4HT are designed specifically for heating water under high pressure, making them perfect for carpet cleaning. We now are offering extreme high pressure models in the #3HTXP and #4HTXP.

Little Giant is proud to introduce two new heaters into the lineup. We are now offering a new #3HTXP in Extreme High Pressure with a pressure rating up to 2200psi. We will also offer it in the #4HTXP Extreme High Pressure. Both heaters will have the capacity to handle extreme high pressures up to 2200psi with no problem for those tough cleaning jobs.

The high temperature thermostat is located at the top of the heater in the coil header. The cold water inlet is also connected in the top header above the thermostat’s temperature sensing probe. The heater’s main burner ignites immediately when the trigger is pulled on the wand, and cold water is introduced into the coil. When you release the trigger on the wand, the heater will then turn itself off once it has reached the desired temperature set on the thermostat, usually 10-15 seconds later. This prompt thermostat action prevents the buildup of extremely hot water in the wand hose. Tests in our laboratory show a maximum hot water output temperature of 230+°F with the thermostat set on high.
