Baptismal Heating Products

Warm Water Baptism

Below are drawings of the two type installations which have proven to be ideal for heating water in a baptistry with gas water heaters.

One drawing shows the #3 Hotomatic® connected so that it supplies warm water to the Baptistry instantaneously. This heater will also furnish hot water to the church kitchen and rest rooms. We recommend that only the #3 Hotomatic® be used for this installation.

The other drawing shows a Hotomatic® connected to the Baptistry so that water can be circulated by means of a pump. A #3 Hotomatic® or a #2 Hotomatic® can be used, although we recommend the #3 Hotomatic® as being the better.

List prices (normal retail price) on all heaters and accessory parts are shown. See list of materials on this page with prices for both the instantaneous and circulation systems for Baptistries.

Small churches that want the most economical Baptistry water heating system available will be well satisfied using the #2 Hotomatic® circulation system. The only accessory really necessary is the thermometer, which will indicate the Baptismal water temperature. However, all accessories should be included in either installation in order to produce the best results.

Shipment can be made immediately, and you will be highly pleased with either type installation.

When ordering always state type of gas being used, that is, natural or LP Gas (propane).

Instantaneous Water Heating System Installation

No. 3 Hotomatic® Installation For Baptistries

The #3 Hotomatic® installed in the manner as an instantaneous heater provides both the domestic hot water for the church kitchen and rest rooms, as well as the Baptismal warm water. This advantage saves the church considerable money, since this one water heater does the job of two.

1 - #3 Heats 300 gallons per hour to a 30° rise

#2 Hotomatic
1 - #2 Heats 90 gallons per hour to a 60° rise

Caution!
Heater and all pipe work must be below the baptistry water level.
Do not ignite heater until heating system is full of water and circulation is started.
Heater and pump must be turned off prior to draining baptistry.

Important
To prevent coil sweating it is necessary to reduce the rate of water circulation. This can be done by installing a valve in the circulation line. Simply close down on the valve until water condensation stops accumulating on the heater coils.

Note
Heater, pump and pipe work can be installed beside the baptistry wall. Piping, pump and aquastat must be below baptistry water level with no air traps.
